poems
compare these two poems and see the similarities and differences (have a GREAT laugh!)
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs we wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in her breath that my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound:
I grant I never saw a goddess go,-
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.
William Shakespear
My boyfriend
My boyfriend is not Ben Affleck,
He dresses in dirty old rags
If he's with me, he's always a dick
And only listens to mama's nags
He's entertaining as a sack of potatoes
Grease is as greasy his hair
His belly's as squishy as a rotten tomatoe
And too weak to wrestle a care bear
Even with all his faults and slime
I think I'll keep him because he's still all mine.
